A Night of Hanukkah Magic with Susan Alexandra
Join us for menorah painting, festive food and drinks, and more at the designer’s downtown shop

This month’s newsletters are sponsored by the Jewish Book Council in celebration of 100 years of Jewish Book Month. Stay tuned at the end of this newsletter for a book recommendation from the JBC team.
GOLDA gang, we’re teaming up with one of my absolute favorite designers, Susan Alexandra, for a one-of-a-kind Menorah Painting Workshop!
Join us Monday, Dec. 8th at the Susan Alexandra flagship in NYC for a night of old school Hanukkah crafting—but make it fashion. Get your ticket here.
If you don’t already follow Susan Alexandra, she is the embodiment of fun, whimsy and colorful Jewish creativity. From her beaded bags to her quirky housewares, to her customizable charm jewelry, the entire brand is dedicated to making life sparklier.
But her designs are also full of heart. With her expanding line of playful judaica, Susan Alexandra is bringing that same sense of freedom and delight to the objects at the center of our Jewish lives—and in the process, making it that much more likely that we’ll reach for them.
I was trying to remember when I first met Susan, and I realized it was actually at a menorah painting event she hosted in 2016, which feels bashert. Danya Shults organized the event for Arq (one of GOLDA’s spiritual predecessors), and my bestie Colette and I jumped to buy tickets and make our own Susan Alexandra-inspired creations.

The next year, Susan made custom versions of her popular metal bangle bracelets for each of my bridesmaids. (The bagel and lox one was for Molly Yeh, who made my cake. Highly recommend meeting your heroes!)
It’s been such a treat to watch her explode into the mainstream and become so beloved. And it’s even more special to see her double down on her Jewish offerings. She gets how important it is to have Jewish objects that feel just as much a part of our lives as our favorite accessories or jewels.
So there’s truly no better way to kick off the holiday season than with a special GOLDA event at the Susan Alexandra flagship downtown. It’s going to be a night full of color, creativity, and connection.
Space is limited, so get your ticket today!
Stay GOLDA,
Stephanie
Jewish Book Council Recommends:
Ayelet Tsabari's Songs for the Brokenhearted offers insight into a history and culture we rarely see in mainstream media. Set against the backdrop of the mid-1990s and Rabin’s assassination, the book provides a raw and powerful portrayal of Israeli history and identity that continues to resonate today.
