Three of our favorite Jewish brands donating profits to wildfire relief

Hi GOLDA gang,

It’s been devastating watching the destruction from the wildfires in Los Angeles, which have razed communities, businesses, and beloved Jewish institutions like the Pasadena Jewish Temple and Center (you can support the congregation here).

In addition to the nonprofit organizations doing amazing work on the ground (check out the Jewish Federation Los Angeles wildfire crisis relief resources and relief fund), small businesses are also stepping up to help Angelenos. Today we’re spotlighting three of our favorite Jewish brands doing just that.

Hamsa Club’s “I Love LA” shirt

Hamsa Club

Hamsa Club, the cheeky Jewish streetwear brand behind the Curb Your Antisemitism hoodie, created a new “I Love LA” design, with proceeds going to the LA Palisades Fire Relief Fundraiser.

“As a brand born and raised in LA, the images on this tee hold a special place in our hearts," Hamsa Club founder Kevin Abner told us. “Growing up as a Valley kid, I have vivid memories of driving down Topanga Canyon and hitting up these iconic spots. Friends at Pali High, high school parties in the Palisades, hanging at the bluffs—it’s all woven into our community’s story.”

Hamsa Club had been planning a New York and LA food-inspired drop this year, and as Kevin put it, “this felt like the perfect moment to bring the vision to life.”

“The inspiration for this tee came from a design by @fatherfigure. We take cues from various streetwear brands and vintage tees, and while the streetwear world often avoids shouting out others due to ego and competition, we wanted to give them their well-deserved credit.”

“This tee is packed with nostalgia, even if we might’ve missed a few spots,” Kevin added. “It’s a love letter to our roots.”

Peace Love Light Shop’s Liora star of David votive holders

Peace Love Light Shop

This online boutique—which carries brands we love like Tchotchke and Ariel Zorger Designs, as well as their own collection—is donating 100 percent of their profits right now to provide mezuzahs to families affected by the wildfires.

“Watching the devastation in Los Angeles and knowing that so many families have lost their homes and cherished possessions is truly heart-wrenching,” Peace Love Light founder Lisa Fero told us. “I wanted to do something to help, and I believe that a mezuzah can offer comfort, strength, and a sense of protection.”

Lisa is working with Chabad of Pacific Palisades, who will be distributing the mezuzahs to displaced families. The Haggadah Collective, Via Maris, and Emily Rosenfeld are also contributing mezuzahs.

Martini Mensch cocktail napkins from The Nosh Table

The Nosh Table

Remi Attia’s Italian and Jewish family is the inspiration behind The Nosh Table, her delightful line of tableware (we love the Shmutz dinner napkins and Martini Mensch cocktail napkins). The LA native is now donating 100% of every purchase on the site to the LA Food Bank and wildfire relief efforts.

“I grew up in LA and it has been devastating to see so many of my friend’s homes, synagogues, schools, and my favorite places around the city destroyed by the wildfires,” Remi told us. “It is hard to describe the rollercoaster of emotions many of us are feeling right now, and I want to help the community.”

“I believe we are all one family and while this won’t be an easy fight, we will get through this together,” Remi said.

Please let us know other ways we can all support the LA Jewish community, and we’ll do our best to get the word out.

We’ll be back in your inbox next week. Until then, Shabbat Shalom and stay GOLDA.
