Eight years ago, I started hosting the Jewish Book Council’s Unpacking the Book series at The Jewish Museum—and these events quickly became my favorite nights on the Jewish cultural calendar.
The series brings together today’s most interesting Jewish writers for thoughtful, wide-ranging conversations about storytelling and identity. Over the years I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing incredible authors onstage like Rachel Kadish, Nathan Englander, Dani Shapiro, Tova Mirvis, Jordan Salama, and many others.
And tomorrow night, a brand new season begins!
I’ll be kicking things off with a virtual conversation with authors Ben Markovits and Jessica Brilliant Keener, and I would love for you to join us. Their fabulous new books—The Rest of Our Lives and Evening Begins the Day—focus on what we learn about ourselves when everything we thought we knew changes in a moment.
I’m especially excited this year because GOLDA is the media sponsor of the series. It’s a partnership that feels extra meaningful, since supporting Jewish writers and artists is such a big part of what we do here.
The first event is virtual, and the next two conversations will take place in person at the Jewish Museum in the coming months.
I hope you’ll join us tomorrow night—you can register here.
Stay GOLDA,
Stephanie
