GOLDA gang, big news: we have a podcast.
I’m so excited to tell you about GOLDA Girls, which when it existed only in my head I described as The View but Jewish. But the podcast that launched today is so much more than that. It’s topical and timely, warm and welcoming.
And the best part is the women I get to make it with. GOLDA readers will recognize all three of my co-hosts from this newsletter:
Diana Fersko, Senior Rabbi of The Village Temple in downtown New York City, is the co-founder of Modern Jewess (aka my favorite snail mail newsletter), and a GOLDA regular: I’ve asked her to share Jewish wisdom for dark times, how to bless your children on Shabbat, and to weigh in on the correct spelling of Hanukkah.
Gabby Deutch is the senior national correspondent at Jewish Insider, and the person I text anytime Jewish news breaks. She was the inaugural subject of our “Jews We Love” feature and recently answered all our questions about the war in Iran.
Esther Chehebar is the author of the novel Sisters of Fortune, one of my favorite works of contemporary Jewish fiction, and the children’s book I Share My Name, a loving tribute to the Sephardic custom of naming a baby after their grandparent. Last summer she shared her shoppable guide to the Jewish Jersey Shore lifestyle.
Each week we’ll be talking about everything from the headlines dominating our feeds to the dramas lighting up our group chats. This week, we dive into mahjong, mohel microcelebrities, and the massive amount of money pouring into the bagel business. Plus, we answer a listener question in our Ask GOLDA segment.
I can’t wait for you to hear it. You can find GOLDA Girls everywhere you listen to podcasts, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and more.
GOLDA Girls is presented by Nu Reads, a new Jewish book subscription series curated by the Jewish Book Council that brings remarkable literature straight to your door. Use code NuGolda at checkout for 15% off. Visit NuReads.org to get started today.
This week’s episode is also sponsored by:
